Born in Brooklyn, New York and back again, Jon Neufeld has returned to his roots. This theme has
guided the personal and musical journey of his life over the past year. These songs and this project
are a dedication to the people and the sounds that have made this music possible.
"In my house, growing up in the late 70's and 80's, I was turned onto the music of my parents'
generation. Artists like Paul Simon, the Beatles, James Taylor, Carol King, and Billy Joel. These are
musicians who came out of the turbulent 1960's with messages of love, compassion and understanding. A
strong sense of moral and social responsibility permeate the songs, while spinning tales about real
life experience. The importance of melody, story telling and clarity of lyrical prose, play and
integral role in the music that has influenced me over the years. I aspire to affect the listeners of
my music much in the way these artists have affected me."
"I want the music and live performances to be inclusive and inviting to the listener. Inter-activeness
is essential to me as an artist. I perform not only because I love to give of myself to those who will
listen, but also because I am nourished by the love and reciprocation the audience gives back."
Having a wide and varied background as a performer, Jon Neufeld has graced the stages of many venues
including, the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, the Brooklyn Academy of Music Cafe with Karen Gibson
Roc, legendary CBGB in NYC, private fashion parties for Tommy Hilfiger clothing as well countless
colleges and regional venues.
The music of Jon Neufeld has been featured in two independent releases, "Sexual
Dependency" and "Building Girl."
